Cardiovascular 4D velocity mapping accelerated with k-t BLAST at 3.0 Tesla: 8-channel vs. 32-channel coil arrays
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background 4D phase contrast CMR can be used to visualise and quantify cardiovascular flow and has become more widely available. However, the scan times tend to be long. Acceleration techniques such as SENSE can be useful. k-t BLAST is a recent method employed to reduce scan times even further. However, these newer acceleration techniques may potentially degrade image quality; this could be overcome by using a higher number of multicoil arrays. 4D k-t BLAST velocity mapping has not been extensively used (or validated) for cardiovascular applications. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of 4D flow-sensitive CMR in the thoracic aorta with 8and 32-channel coil arrays using k-t BLAST, compared to SENSE acceleration.

Quantification and visualization of cardiovascular 4D velocity mapping accelerated with parallel imaging or k-t BLAST: head to head comparison and validation at 1.5 T and 3 T
BACKGROUND Three-dimensional time-resolved (4D) phase-contrast (PC) CMR can visualize and quantify cardiovascular flow but is hampered by long acquisition times. Acceleration with SENSE or k-t BLAST are two possibilities but results on validation are lacking, especially at 3 T. The aim of this study was therefore to validate quantitative in vivo cardiac 4D-acquisitions accelerated with parallel...
متن کاملSize-optimized 32-channel brain arrays for 3 T pediatric imaging.
Size-optimized 32-channel receive array coils were developed for five age groups, neonates, 6 months old, 1 year old, 4 years old, and 7 years old, and evaluated for pediatric brain imaging. The array consisted of overlapping circular surface coils laid out on a close-fitting coil-former. The two-section coil former design was obtained from surface contours of aligned three-dimensional MRI scan...
متن کاملThree-dimensionally accelerated radial parallel MRI with a 32-channel coil system
Introduction: Established parallel-imaging techniques include the one-dimensional or two-dimensional acceleration of data acquisition with Cartesian or non-Cartesian trajectories [1–4]. However, state-of-the-art receiver coil arrays with 32 and more coil elements that are distributed approximately uniformly in space should also enable a three-dimensional (3D) parallel-imaging acceleration, i.e....
متن کاملA Specialized Multi-Transmit Head Coil for High Resolution fMRI of the Human Visual Cortex at 7T
PURPOSE To design, construct and validate radiofrequency (RF) transmit and receive phased array coils for high-resolution visual cortex imaging at 7 Tesla. METHODS A 4 channel transmit and 16 channel receive array was constructed on a conformal polycarbonate former. Transmit field efficiency and homogeneity were simulated and validated, along with the Specific Absorption Rate, using [Formula:...
متن کامل96-Channel receive-only head coil for 3 Tesla: design optimization and evaluation.
The benefits and challenges of highly parallel array coils for head imaging were investigated through the development of a 3T receive-only phased-array head coil with 96 receive elements constructed on a close-fitting helmet-shaped former. We evaluated several designs for the coil elements and matching circuitry, with particular attention to sources of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) loss, includin...
